The Ateneo Law School Entrance Exam is popularly referred to as the Ateneo Law School Admission Test (ALSAT). To help you with your ALSAT Prep, we have Online LAE Review Courses and LAE Reviewer. These are applicable to the entrance tests of Ateneo, UP, and other law schools.
The Ateneo School of Law has a Juris Doctor program, which is meant for full-time study and is intended to be completed in four years.
Before you start with your ALSAT Prep, make sure that you are eligible to apply and that you gather all the documentary requirements as soon as possible. Knowing the test format, coverage, and schedule will help you determine what to include in your review.
Ateneo Law School Entrance Exam: Eligibility and Application Requirements
An aspiring law student is qualified to take the test if he or she:
- has a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- has 12 units of English and 3 units of Rizal in college
- has not enrolled and been graded in at least one semester at another Philippine law school
Before an applicant can take the test, he or she must:
- accomplish an online application form
- pay the application fee of PHP3,500
- upload the required documents in PDF format
- transcript of records (if done with college) or true copy of grades (if still in college)
- certificate of good moral character or certificate of no derogatory record for a disciplinary case from the university last attended
- 2″ x 2″ ID picture with red background (jpeg format)
- provide the names and contact details (including the institutional email addresses, if any) of recommenders*
- request the recommenders to use the online recommendation forms
*The recommenders must be:
- a former professor or dean of the applicant’s school, and
- someone who is not a friend or a relative who can provide true character reference
Ateneo Law School Entrance Exam: Fee and Schedule
The registration fee is PHP3,500. The applicants may submit their application and documents online until February 29, 2024.
The exam will be online and will be set between March 2 and April 20, 2024. (Upon completion of the application, Ateneo Law School will assign the applicant’s date of exam.)
The interviews, if necessary, will be conducted between May 15 and June 30, 2024.
Ateneo Law School Entrance Exam: Format and Coverage
The 2023 exam was conducted online, and the applicants were not allowed to use any scratch papers. They encountered questions in multiple-choice format in the following subjects:
- Critical Thinking
- Verbal Analytical Reasoning
- Reading Comprehension
There were no questions in Science, Math, General Knowledge, and Abstract Reasoning.
The 2024 exam will still be online. So far, there has been no announcement regarding the test coverage. If it will be the same as last year, focus on Logic and Reading Comprehension during your review.
